Springwells Village is going to featured in the National Main Streets Conference tour of Detroit!
Perhaps one of the best things about attending the National Main Streets Conference each year is exploring the host city during your stay. Main Street mobile workshops offer the opportunity to see local Main Street projects in action in a fun and meaningful way. This May, the 2014 Conference in Detroit, Michigan is offering some of the most unique educational tours to date, from small towns doing big things, to creative development projects in the heart of Detroit. More than a dozen mobile workshops are available before during and after the conference. There are tours of historic theatres and churches, trips via bicycle, and even an international opportunity!
The National Main Street Center is gearing up for the 2014 National Main Streets Conference in Detroit, Mich., May 18 - 20. This year the conference theme, “Works in Progress” should resonate well with the preservation leadership audience. As preservation professionals we are all too aware that preservation success is incremental, ongoing, and, in many respects, always a “work in progress.”
The 2014 National Main Street Conference is shaping up to be one of the best conferences yet when it comes to educational content and opportunities. Of particular interest to preservationists at this year’s Main Streets Conference are advanced classroom sessions and mobile workshops dealing with economic impact, real estate development, innovative preservation tools, and professional leadership development.
